Brooke T. Allen (the founder of NSoW) is the Head of the Quantitative Trading Group at Maple Securities, USA, Inc. He has a BA in Mathematics from Rutgers, and an MBA in Finance from NYU. He has founded four corporations and one hedge fund. He has worked for American Airlines, Mobil Oil, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and CS First Boston. He has lived with his wife and two children in New York, Tokyo, London, and they currently reside in New Jersey.

Brooke believes the job market is broken, and that: 1) Human research professionals and hiring managers can make the hiring process more fair, effective, humane and fun, and that: 2) Job seekers can be more effective and happy by helping each other learn, work, and grow. He started No Shortage of Work to promote these ideas.
