GETTING HELP FROM NSoW
We do not sell anything at No Shortage of Work – And you should not either. (If you become a regular contributor, you may mention your business in your profile.)
You can get help here by:
- Reading posts on our blog.
- Responding to articles and posts.
- Submitting requests for help to our newsletter readers.
- Writing to us.
We want to help you find people and projects so you can learn and collaborate with others. We are NOT A JOB SITE. Look here for work – look elsewhere for jobs.
Begin by deciding on what kind of help you need. Do you need to:
- Build a business
- Research a market
- Learn a skill
- Get guidance
- Complete a project
Decide what kind of person you would like to help you.
- An intern – who will work for you in exchange for experience
- A mentor – who can coach you
- An expert – with specialized skills

Thank you for giving me a chance to post. I recently received my PhD in the life-sciences. Though I learned a lot in graduate school about science, I feel that I am lacking the skills I desire in leadership. In my short career in academic science, it has been my observation that most tenured scientists/professors do not make great leaders. They never had the training. Not only have I witnessed how bad leadership and lack of mentorship can hurt a young scientist, but unfortunately I have personally been effected. I know I am a good scientist but also realize I am far from being a good leader. So I am humbly asking for a mentor in becoming a good leader.
